We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to assist in the determination of the cause, origin, and extent of foundation or soil movement, structural failures, water intrusions, construction defects and other failures to join our team. Duties in this key position involve the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial properties for the purpose of resolving claims and legal disputes. Assignments may include foundation settlement investigations, structural assessments, site evaluations, sub surface investigations and vibration analysis.
Provide opinions and expert testimony. Other duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document onsite conditions and oversee field testing. Rimkus employs professionals whose broad range of expertise includes, construction, energy, accident reconstruction, environmental sciences, product and equipment failure, fire, explosion and accident analysis, business analysis services and computer generated video graphics, all used to help our clients understand the complex factors that cause catastrophic events.
Premier software technology, in depth site investigations and consistent analysis enables our professional staff to render opinions and conclusions based on scientific facts. Must posses strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations to clients for the purposes of both litigation support and marketing. Prepare oral and written reports that document causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation. Excellent leadership, communication, and creative problem solving skills are a must. Management experience which includes employee supervision, federal government work, and construction administration required. Technical experience in building design, structural dynamics, failure analysis, retrofit design and MatLab required. Knowledge of structural response to the effects of conventional and terrorist weapons, and familiarity with current government anti terrorism standards.
