Courier job

Drive to various locations following specified route as determined by Dispatch office to pick up medical specimens. Retrieve medical specimens from specimen boxes and or health care offices or facilities. Answer incoming telephone calls from Dispatch office advising of changes to route. Coordinate courier operations with part time couriers in the area. Communicate problems or concerns to Dispatch office as they occur. Must maintain a professional appearance.
Properly package specimens for delivery via FedEx to MDL’s laboratories in Hamilton, NJ this must include specimens from part time couriers. Delivery of specimens to a pre determined FedEx facility on a daily basis. Make additional specimen retrievals outside of the normal route when required by the Dispatch office. Must work both independently and as a team player. Must obey all motor vehicle laws. We currently have an opening for a CDL CLASS B local route driver. This is a full time week day shift, we have a late model fleet with comprehensive vehicle maintenance and we pay by the hour not by the mile.
This position has the responsibility for driving a company CDL vehicle and transporting customer material from customer and Iron Mountain locations. Loading and unloading a truck through a variety of mechanisms. Using wireless scanning technology. Preparing some paperwork. Performing the delivery or pick up of customer material in a courteous, efficient and professional manner. Picks up and delivers laundry, lab specimens, X rays, etc. from and to all designated campus and off campus locations. Ability to bend pushes, walk, lift and exert force to move in excess of pound to their proper destinations. Must be well acquainted with all campus and off campus locations to insure accurate and expeditious deliveries.
Maintain cleanliness, orderliness and good working condition of vehicle. Submits individual courier log daily. Operate required vehicle in a safe manner to perform required duties of the position.
