Credit Manager Job

Growing and stable manufacturing organization in the Lehigh Valley is searching for a credit or collections manager to lead the team and stream line processes. This position will develop and supervise a team of, post cash applications, maintain a portfolio of clients, increase cash flow by dispute resolution, review and approve write downs, and will be responsible for collections management and retention of top clients. This position is highly visible to the VP of Finance and works closely with the controller. Streamlining processes and implementing procedures to maximize efficiency and provide the best service to the client base.
Our client, located in Oakland County, is a third party debt recovery company looking for a Collections Supervisor. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree or currently enrolled in classes working toward their degree, years of collections experience with years of supervisory experience. As the Collections Supervisor you will be responsible for collecting third party debt in conjunction with supervising a staff of Collectors. This position will require heavy follow up so someone who is detail oriented and organized is a requirement. In addition, candidates must be self motivated and must have excellent communication skills. Industry experience someone with previous collections experience collecting debt for a third party is also a requirement.
Candidates must also be willing and able to work a flexible schedule including weeknights and Saturdays. Assigning work related to investigating and verifying financial status and reputation of credit applicants, preparing documents to substantiate those findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications. Establishing credit limits on customer accounts and handling special credit arrangements. Assigning responsibility of investigating fraud cases and taking legal action for those cases, as well as collecting for worthless checks and delinquent bills.
Establishing and updating customers' credit activities. Review collection reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collections policies and procedures. Auditing delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken prior to assigning bad debt status to account. Coordinating with other, including personnel in company branches and credit card companies, to exchange information and update controls. Submitting delinquent accounts to an attorney or outside agency for collection. Compiling or analyzing statistical data on fraudulent use of credit cards to develop procedures design to deter or prevent future abuses. Assisting management in the formation of credit policies.
