The role of the Field Engineer is to provide a comprehensive engineering installation service to the dealers in support of products supplied by the company. Clients’ homes, residential nursing homes, Special Schools, hospices and new build developments are there working locations. Attendance at client case conferences to provide technical support and specification of equipment to be supplied. This function includes the completion of client assessment forms to enable future installation work to be carried out.
The company operates a nationwide service and as such engineers can be called on to carry out work outside their initial territory a flexible approach is required. Configuration and installation of SRS environmental control equipment and where appropriate, the installation of third party equipment where supplied by SRS which include motorized door operators, intercom systems and wheelchair interfacing. Provision of technical and engineering support to NHS and SHS engineering departments where the company has a contractual agreement to provide such support.
Configuration and testing of equipment to be supplied including the testing of new products that are from time to time introduced to the product range. Undertaking warranty and service visits to customers as may be determined by any maintenance contract held by a customer or, that may arise as a result of any product development change. Providing out of hour’s call and repair service as may from time to time be required under the conditions of warranty agreed with customers. Completion of post installation reports for submission to the purchasing authority.
Attendance at any internal or external meetings or training as may be determined to be appropriate by the company’s Operations Manager. Ensuring that company vehicles, equipment and tools are maintained to a good and safe standard, this responsibility extends to the safety and cleanliness of the company’s central workshop and ancillary technical offices where work may be carried out. It is incumbent upon all employees within the company to demonstrate positive working relationships with co workers and to at all time, provide appropriate support to other staff members regardless of position.
