Produce quality technical illustrations supporting the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual. Update or modify existing graphics ensuring quality and conformance with current standards and processes. Enforce quality requirements to include responding to corrective actions and provide related informal instruction to customer. Attend and participate in meetings and briefings within a product team environment. Provide guidance to IT personnel on the data elements for delivery of IETM content and provide on site support to test activities. Develop and maintain IETM quality metrics related to graphics or illustration reviews as required.
Design and coordinate the development of a wide range of print and multimedia materials. Creates original graphic design and comprehensive layout concepts and coordinates production of materials. May oversee the work of less experienced staff members. Evaluate and coordinate with outside print vendors. Determine which vendor can suit the project needs and supply in the most efficient and cost effective manner. Work with clients to understand their needs and to develop direction, concept and specifications for assigned projects. Identify, choose and coordinate with vendors for printing or publication services as appropriate per project. Coordinate graphic photo “library” and maintain electronic records.
Work with team leader to determine workload distribution and determine the need to bring in additional resources. Determine if in house documents are best distributed in print or electronic format. Project Manager makes final decision. You will be the champion of our corporate image based on understanding the goals of our Company, our buyers and our users along with what benefit organizations would have in obtaining our software. Developing and improving the design of our application and other communication pieces through understanding our customer base and relevant human computer interaction research. Supporting the Agile process through your participation in prototyping, usability studies, mocking up design and desk checks.
Researching our demographic, designing customer communication and making usability suggestions based on that research. Maintaining knowledge of usability best practices Conducting usability studies, ethnographic studies of our customers through on site visits and attending customer meetings to understand their needs. Maintaining knowledge of how the software works and how it supports the users' needs. Performing Desk checks as development work is completed and giving positive feedback to team members as good design principles are implemented. Testing the application and recording defects, identifying areas for usability improvements.
