Marine Engineer job

Intact and damaged stability analyses including longitudinal strength and tank capacity tables. Model preparation utilizing GHS. Weight estimates. Conducting structural assessments using first principles methods and finite element analysis using ALGOR, including report writing for review by Classification Society. Preparing procedures and performing deadweights surveys and inclining experiments. Conducting rule analyses using classification society standards for ABS, USCG, SOLAS and MARPOL regulations. Contact equipment suppliers to verify dimensions and performance specifications. Develop section modulus and longitudinal strength calculations and drawings. Carry out sea trials and record noise performance, as well as maneuverability behavior of the vessel.
Talascend is currently seeking an experienced Naval Architect Marine Engineer for a contract position with a leader in the shipbuilding, repair and conversion facilities. Primarily serving the offshore oil and gas industry, the engineering department is responsible from the conceptual stage to the detail engineering of various vessel types. The successful candidate will join the engineering department of a company involved in design projects with various types and sizes of vessels. You will attend professional military schools throughout your service and you will also have opportunities to pursue advanced degrees. You may fly an attack jet, command a sniper platoon or coordinate the movement of supplies and Marines across the globe.

You can apply for one of two programs, depending on your education level. An Officer Selection Officer will provide information on how to apply and prepare for the program that is right for you. Platoon Leaders Class College freshmen, sophomores and juniors apply for this program that allows them to train during the summer, without interrupting academic studies. Officer Candidate Course College seniors and graduates apply for this program that includes a week training session, post graduation. Will assist duty engineer officer as required. Assists with fluid and filter changes, assisting in the safe transfer of fluids. Make rounds as instructed of all machinery spaces and equipment.
