Today, Nielsen Mobile serves clients from across the convergence marketplace mobile and wired service providers, retailers, content providers, and device manufacturers. The Mobile Test Technician Driver will be responsible for driving one of Nielsen Mobile's data collection vehicles, either owned by Nielsen Mobile or rented by Nielsen Mobile, around various metropolitan, suburban, and rural markets across the United States as it collects network quality data. The MTTD drives a designated "route" that will be provided and includes all primary and secondary roads in the market.
This position is conducted with just a single individual in the field whom is supported by a staff supervisor in the office. The MTTD must be confident and capable in their abilities to resolve issues. MTTD has to be a self motivated individual that will require little supervision and be able to work in a fast paced environment. It is possible that technological restrictions will limit tactless monitoring which will increase the involvement of the MTTD to operate equipment as necessary. Valid US drivers license required with at least months of driving experience and a clean driving record required. Minimum two year degree in an engineering or electronics discipline preferred.
Ability to navigate according to drive route provided. Ability to work on a flexible schedule. Strong attention to detail and adherence to field policy. Effective communications, oral and written. Able to take instructions as well as work efficiently with minimal direct supervision to meet progress schedules. Above average computer skills including basic hardware trouble shooting, such as peripheral device and modem connectivity. Demonstrated use of software applications including, Microsoft Office applications Excel, and Word and operating systems, and various commercial email and communications products.
