Sales director job

Supervision and leadership of staff within the areas of sales and marketing. Determine the demand for products and services offered by the hotel and its comparable set and identify potential customers. Develop pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the hotel’s revenue and share of the market while ensuring the hotel’s customers are satisfied. Assist in the development and implementation of the hotel's overall marketing plan which includes all print, Internet and broadcast media communications. The Director of Sales and Marketing will also serve as a Mentor. The Mentor is responsible for supervising the learning experiences of students in the cooperating hospitality agency.
Regular and consistent attendance at work. Serve as professional role model. Assist students in achieving course objectives. Evaluate and report student performances to the hospitality faculty. Maintain effective communication with students, employees and community members. Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends. Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings. Plan and supervise staff and operations of departments under your supervision.
Oversee hotel’s revenue management efforts, including pace reports, forecasting, rate and restriction setting for both catering and rooms, transient and group business. Manage hotel’s participation in and interpretation of such standard reports as STR and Hotelligence.Manage budget and purchasing services under your supervision. Assist in planning and ensuring timely execution of hotel advertising and promotions. Review materials to ensure brand identity standards are met and recommend adjustments, as appropriate. Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
Proof and approve communications. Meet with internal clients to develop marketing projects. Develop and communicate the availability of new materials without direct request from internal clients. Compile lists describing product or service offerings. Coach and nurture student in performance of skills. Supervise the student and provide timely feedback on performance. Document observations of performances and progress. Collaborate with faculty facilitator. Complete evaluation tools. Attend orientation to the mentor role with the preceptor facilitator prior to the practicum. Understand objectives and expectations for the practicum.
